Where do you start?

It may appear daunting but don’t panic. You may have seen an example from my range that you love……great! that makes it easy…… you may just want to tweak it a little ……or  you may have another style in mind.

My step by step formula

1. Style……decide what catches your eye and fits with the look you want to achieve.
2. Position……factor into your plans early when building or renovating or check your existing bedroom wall for any windows, lights and switches that may pose a problem.
3. Visualize……stand back and imagine the headboard in place, a paper pattern or low tack masking tape can help determine the height. How will it balance with the bedside table heights and other furniture.
4. Measure ……the width of your bed as a queen bed is usually 1500mm wide but they can differ.
5. Fabric……I have tried and true fabrics I recommend but consider wear and tear, natural light fade and your colour choice.
6. Trims……buttons, nails, piping, depending on the style, the budget and availability.
7. Attachments……two choices are available, wall brackets or pine legs. I also make a model that stands on the floor. I encourage wall brackets where possible as they sit firm eliminating any movement.

How to design to a budget.

Pricing…… There is a basic price for every style and size shown, I then add the variables which are the extra size, fabrics and trims.

Quotes……I provide  a detailed written quote for every order.

Choosing ……An existing design is cost effective as templates and materials are already in stock.

Your fabric or mine…… There may be an extra charge if the fabric is creased or has stripes that need matching etc. The fabric must come on a roll.
